Blood sugar? Two lumps please.

My bloodsugar is getting consistently lower now that I am on Day 8 of the Rosedale Diet. I’ve got many readings throughout the day that are in the hundreds and I’m sure that I’ll start posting below 120 regularly soon. Bad news for all vampires that don’t drink their blood ‘black’.

I’ve got my job interview this morning. I’m tired (from coughing all night) but I feel ready for the most part. I do need to print out my resume to take with me.

Speaking of coughs, ugh. I’ve had worse coughs. When Finn was born, I had such horrible bronchitis I probably should have been hospitalized. In fact, the following year I was hospitalized because I couldn’t breathe. This is just an irritating little phlegm at the back of my throat that won’t go away. You know how there are some older men who are constantly having to clear their throats but are not doing a real cough? That’s what it is like. Only about every two to four hours do I get a real cough in. When I am done with my interview today, I am going to take a powerful expectorant and try to end this this weekend.

cardsI like poker. I play No Limit Texas Hold ‘Em online several times a month. But I don’t play for money. And I just got another reason why I never will. Some online gaming site creator was cheating at poker by using special software to see other peoples’ hole cards (the two cards each player gets dealt versus the five group cards placed face up on the table). Now obviously this guy got caught which reinforces the Cheaters Never Win meme. But one thing I’ve learned is that no one ever gets caught until they are caught. And it is usually the dumb ones that get caught. So don’t play online poker. Aside from it being illegal in the US, now we have proof that even the creators of the system can’t be trusted.

CuocoFirst, I’m on day 6 of the Rosedale Diet. It is a diet that limits carbohydrates to only fiber-dense vegetables and encourages good fat intake and limited protein. The premise of the diet is that if you eat like this (lots of leafy greens, a little bit of meat, and nuts, olive oil, avocado, etc) you will reset your leptin hormonal imbalance (which makes you hungry when you shouldn’t be.) By day two hunger is out the window. It’s pretty good for that. It also increases insulin sensitivity and since I am diabetic, that is a good thing. My blood sugar dropped to under 100 today.

The Whole Foods in Sherman Oaks is a good place for celebrity sitings. The other day I saw Albert Brooks. Today my wife and I saw Kaley Cuoco from 8 Simple Rules and now The Big Bang Theory. My wife told her that we really love her show and she was flattered. Very nice girl! I can’t remember everyone I’ve seen there but almost every time I’ve gone I recognize someone.

I’ve got a chest cold that derived from a head cold. I’m really getting sick of it. I would like for it to go away.
